90% Silver Coins: The Full List

Which US coins are 90% silver?

United States dimes, quarters and half dollars dated 1964 and earlier are 90% silver, and silver dollars dated 1935 and earlier are too -- every one of them is worth its metal at minimum.

90% silver coins are struck 1878–2021 and reach dollars, dimes and quarters.

90% silver names a specific alloy or construction rather than a broad metal, and it is the fineness that sets how much precious metal a coin actually contains.

One rule covers almost all of it: for United States dimes, quarters and half dollars, 1964 is the last silver year. That single fact answers more questions from people holding a coin than any other.
