Silver Coins
A circulated silver coin is worth at least its silver content, which is its actual silver weight in troy ounces multiplied by the current spot price -- so a 90% silver US quarter tracks silver, not the 25 cents stamped on it.
Silver coins have a floor under their value: the silver they contain, stated in troy ounces on each coin's own page. That floor is most of the answer for a common date in worn condition. Dates run 1878–2021, across dollars, dimes and quarters.
Sort by date before anything else. What a silver coin is made of was fixed by the year it was struck and the country that struck it, not by how worn or how shiny it is, and the metal decides more of the value here than the condition does.
United States dimes, quarters and half dollars dated 1964 and earlier are 90% silver. Half dollars dated 1965 to 1970 are 40% silver. Everything after that, with the exception of proof and collector issues, is copper-nickel clad and carries no silver at all.
The arithmetic: metal value = actual metal weight in troy ounces × the current spot price per troy ounce. Every coin below states its own metal weight, so the only thing you need to look up is the spot price.
The same coins with the arithmetic already done, and nothing else on the page, are at silver melt values.
